Privacy Policy
At Equigroup, we recognise the importance of your privacy. We abide by the Australian Privacy Principles which came into force from 12 March 2014. Our policy for the management of personal information is set out here.
From time to time we may collect information about you such as your name, contact details, occupation, title and information regarding the services that you inquire about or purchase from us. We may collect this information when you give it to us directly, when you use our services or when you visit our website. We may also collect information from others, such as service providers, partners or your colleagues when they or your employer use our services.
We collect, use and exchange your information so that we can:
- Establish your identity and manage our relationship with you
- Price and design our products and services
- Assess the suitability of the application for financing and/or accept you as a borrower or guarantor
- Manage your credit and related funding arrangements
- Comply with the relevant laws and regulations
- Conduct and improve our business and improve our customer experience
- Identify and tell you about other products or services that we think may be of interest to you.
We share your information with credit reporting bodies and get credit reports about you from them. We do this so we and credit providers can:
- Assess whether to accept you as a borrower or guarantor.
- Manage credit you guarantee and collect overdue payments.
If at any time you do not wish us to send you information on our services, please tell us and we will cease to do so.
From time to time we may send your information overseas to service providers or other parties who operate or hold data outside Australia. In the unlikely event that this is required we will make sure the appropriate data handling and security arrangements are in place.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that all information we collect or use is accurate, complete, up-to-date, protected from misuse and accessed only by authorised personnel for permitted purposes. We keep your hard copy or electronic records on our secured premises and systems or offsite using trusted third parties.

We will make your information available within a reasonable period after the request is made. If we are unable to provide access to your personal information we will provide you with written notice detailing reasons for the refusal.
If you have concerns about your privacy, you have a right to make a complaint. To lodge a complaint, please email privacy@equigroup.com. We acknowledge every complaint we receive and will provide you with details of the person investigating your complaint. We will keep you updated on progress we’re making towards fixing the problem.
